This is a submission for the GameDev.tv October Jam 2025 and was developed as a solo project from October 10th 2025 to October 20th 2025.

You are Skele-Tom, a mythological creature that comes to life on Halloween to steal candy. Steal all the candy you can, go as fast as you can, and watch out for trick candies! Can you 3-Pumpkin all six levels?

Remapping Controls

In the Main/Pause Menu, under Controls, there is a listing of all game controls. You can remap any of them. Those changes will be saved between plays of the game.

Gameplay

Each level your goal is to collect all the candy, get to the end of the level, and do it under the time limit. You get one pumpkin for finishing the level, one for collecting all the candy, and one for completing the level quickly. (The timer will turn orange if you go over time.)

Gameplay Hints

  • All levels can be completed in the time allotted.
  • It is possible to fall off some levels and die. This is intentional.
  • There are only 6 levels. Once you finish the graveyard level, it rolls around to level 1 again.
  • The red hatchback cars give hints about jumping.
  • Only back alley trashcans can be jumped on.
  • There is a way to use the red hatchbacks to launch yourself far into the air starting on level 3.
  • Yes you are carrying your own head on level 5.

Known Issues

  • Occasionally you can get stuck in the geometry while jumping. I tried to make sure I cleaned up all these places but there may still be some. You'll have to restart the game if that happens. (Sorry!) However, you will not lose the progress of any levels you've beaten.
  • The mouse does not work well in the Pause/Main Menu. I recommend using the Arrow Keys/Enter or the gamepad and A/X/B (bottom action) button to navigate them.
  • Some of the objects that you can jump on are also used in the background and this caused confusion in playtesting. I did not have time to fix this before the jam ended

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue where you could play any level before beating previous levels.

Music

The music was created using Suno, an AI music generator. Some people may object to that and I understand that, so I wanted to be upfront about it. AI was not used in any way for making any other part of this game.

For those of you who liked the music and asked for the songs to be available somewhere else, enjoy Skele-Tom's Candy Caper Playlist.

Skele-Tom, Skele-Tom, sneaky and sly, steals all your candy while you cry!

This game felt like a bag of Halloween candies to me, in that it was a mixed bag, but overall a joyous experience. I was positively amazed by the variety of mechanical tricks you've thrown at me, although not all of them landed for me. Camera switching mechanic is really cool, but more often than not it just made the game harder and more frustrating (platforming is notoriously not very fun with first-person perspective, to give the most glaring example), but still, the trick was very fresh and unusual! I feel like in terms of mechanics, this is a very good prototype with lots of cool ideas that could be iterated upon and improved into a really good and unique game. Visually game is really interesting, it has has kind of a generic look with all the assets, but the way they are arranged and rendered creates this unique, unusual style. Music and sounds are really cool, very Halloweeny, the song is just a banger, I really loved it, and it made my day :)
